What are your favorite sports to watch and play?
My definition of sport has a wider net than the typical sports that immediately come to mind like football, soccer, lacrosse, basketball, etc. A long time ago, I did used to play soccer and lacrosse; though now if I tried, I’d likely get injured.
These days I love watching flow of all kinds: poi, hoops, dragon staff, canes, flags…. So many options. It is mesmerizing watching someone skilled with their prop get lost in the flow. If you have never witnessed this- I highly recommend you search the above terms. I have also included a few YouTube links at the bottom. ⬇️
In addition to watching, I also play with hoops, fans, worship flags. Today I impulsively bought a pair of triqutras to add to the mix. I am not as skilled as the people in the video links I’ve included- but I do have a lot of fun. If you watch the links and are intrigued to learn more, see if there is a flow jam/spin jam local to you where you can watch, try, and learn various props. Additionally there are studios which offer hoop, lyra, aerial silks and other similar classes which you may want to check out.
