Buying books vs. Reading books

What books do you want to read?

I would love to make time to read all the books I keep buying but don’t seem to have time to read at the moment. Progress happens but very slowly.

Buying books is most definitely a different hobby from reading books. Aligning the two takes effort: 1. Self discipline to not buy more books than I have time to consume (I usually fail at this one though I’ve been making an effort to improve); and 2. Self discipline to maintain a consistent reading practice even while life’s demands pull me in many directions.

Current books in process include the following (because why would I ever just read one book at a time):

  1. The Practice of Healing Prayer by Francis MacNutt, PhD
  2. In Step With God by Charles F. Stanley
  3. Soulcare by Dr. Rob Reiner
  4. The Catalyst by Thomas R. Cech (audio book)
